Freemans Bank $10

Bristol Bank

April 1, 1842. Durand 154, Haxby RI-39 A10, Bowers W-RI-110-010-A090

Freemans was a nonexistent bank (it’s correct name is “Freemen’s Bank”). Altered from a Terry, Pelton & Co. note, possibly from the Citizens Bank of Augusta, Maine, the same as used for this Peoples Bank of Providence $10.
