North Kingston Exchange Bank

Incorporated in 1847 in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, charter revoked in 1848. (In the 19th century, the town was sometimes spelled “Kingston” instead of “Kingstown.”)

It does not appear that this bank ever opened for business and its officers are not known. It did, however, order plates engraved by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edison, which are in the archives of the American Banknote Company. Proofs of these notes in denominations from $1 to $100 are known to exist.
