“Extremely rare and one of two known. The issued notes from this Fairman Draper Underwood & Co. series have never been observed to our knowledge. India paper mounted on its original card. Charles Thompson at the top in elaborate frame. Finely lathed end panels. Originating in the 1990 ABNCo. sale, it was on a sheet purchased by Herb and Martha Schingoethe. Later sold by Smythe & Co. as lot 4132 in the Sept. 2005 sale.”

Charles Thompson

Charles Thomson (November 29, 1729 – August 16, 1824) was an Irish-born Patriot leader in Philadelphia during the American Revolution, and the secretary of the Continental Congress (1774–1789) throughout its existence.
